Sound Card woes...

Hey,

As some of you know, I think I may have lost my sound card last night...then again, I don't know.
I was playing CS when there was this loud screech once or twice from my speakers, and then I could only get severely muffled sounds. I thought, well, there wen't my sound card. I quit playing CS and went back to windows. I clicked on WinAmp (I was playing only LEGAL MP3's...yeah...right) and all the speakers worked fine.

Anyone have any ideas as to what is freaking out on my card? I have a fealing it may be the 3d part of the sound (EAX or something)...anyone else?

IF you had EAX enabled in CS, that could be what freaked...go into audio hq and play with the eax settings (turn on and off some of the effects) while playing an mp3 and see what happens.

Could have just been the drivers that freaked too - try reloading those.
