CS 1.6 Rumor

Rumor on the street is that once Valve does away with the WON authentication system and moves to Steam in 1.6, that Counter-Strike will become a pay-to-play service....IS THIS TRUE????

If so, then 1.5 will be the last you see of the crippled one....

jay all you need is your cd key, its not going to be pay to play for cs, where do you keep hearing this nonsense? didnt onji explain that to you the other day!! relax and just be patient.

i think the pay 2 play thing was only a membership to steam where it would allow you to d/l any steam product. ???? correct me if i'm wrong.

all i know is that me along with thousands of people bought cs a long time ago, and it clearly did not say we had to pay a monthly fee to play... and i dont think companys can just add that, *cough lawsuit.... like the canadian said, u can 'pay to play' if u want to download other valve mods. like tftc or.. whatever, and future games.

It would be difficult to make it a pay-to-play because the servers are run by individuals.
