Help with Vid Card

Hey guys i went from 60 fps to 30 fps.... is there anyone out there that can tell me how to overclock my Vid card ... it's a MX440 64 MG ... i think .. lol.. i can't be bothered to have a look..... ok i just bothered to have a look after thinking about it ... if anyone can help please do so ... hehehe
OH btw Meds and 30 fps don't mix well ....

60 to 30 fps??? Maybe it was the map. Turn off ur vsync.

ewww, but u only get 60 fps max? then ur vsync must be on, i have the same card here at work and I get 99 fps

Cant overclock that...I don't think. I don't beleive the MX cards are capable of doing it. Thats why they are under $100 :D

What res are you running at? I play at 600x800 and get 99fps With the Ge2 MX400.

ahhhh RUN AWAY from 800x600....i luv my 1152x768 res (with 99 fps hehehe) ~~ now if only rr would hurry up with my cable i could get my ping out of the 200000000000 level and actually be able to play :)

Hush mav, I run 800x600 on a 21" screen and it's sw33t b/c the shot boxes are bigger, or at least so it seems :D

Anyway, that's the same vid card I have Corp and no matter what res I run at all the way up to 1600, I stay locked at 100fps on most all the maps. Some of the DM maps, it will vary and fluctuate, but all the standard maps stay at 100fps. I'd check your settings, to make sure your fps_max in the game isn't set to 30. I don't think it would be the vSync because there is no 30Hz refresh rate...although, if you were getting only 60 before, it probably is on and should be turned off.

Just go in game, pull your console and type "fps_max 100 " (without quotes of course) and see if that changes anything...if not, it's something bogging down CPU cycles on your box, so you may want to pull of the taskman too see what's hogging it up.

I am running a 3.0ghz with a geforce fx 5900 and i only get 60fps.. it never pings below that even in the heat of battle with 20 peeps.. I just wanna know what happened cause my last comp had a ti4600 in it and ran at 100fps. I am curious cause my newer comp should do the same. I don't know what the vsync is.. I have checked the max fps and it says 100. I don't know what 2 do.. thanks

patton, Right click in the middle of your desktop and go to properties. Then click on Settings and Advanced. Click on Monitor and make sure its set to at least 100Hertz then Click on the Geforce Ti5900 Tab. Click on Open GL Settings and set Vertical Sync to Off by default and OK out of everything.

my max refesh rate on my monitor is 85hz, what exactly is vsync, i haven't heard of it, what are its advantages 2 other things besides CS

righclick ur desktop, goto properties, settings, advanced. CLick ur card tab and goto OpenGL settings, change ur vsync to off, u should have 100 fps

im leaving vsync on.. The video seems 2 be smoother and ur eyes can't even see more than like 35 or 40fps anyways and 60 looks really good on mine.. No matter how much stuff is on the screen and what not it stays at 60fps..

Well it seemed to me that I got more shots off at 99 fps than I did at 60 or at 20 fps.
