Lot easier to get the sand out of it then to have have it blown to bits by a JDAM.

Well, I know some fighters (Mig25 included) have swept-back wings...but that's the furthest back I have ever seen wings. They clearly aren't even attached...probably buried in another shallow grave that will be found at a later date.
