It's hot out there; he's probably going to wake up thirsty. And it's like the desert and stuff, so there's not much water. He's being resourceful.

He forgot his Still Suit...he has to recycle it someway.

Fremen were in the desert, afterall. That's gotta be it. His still suit was eiterh back at the base, or, he didn't have his hoses fitted for the deep desert.
