Got an Athlon 1.4, XP 1600+, and an xp 2000+. prices 30$, 40$, and 50$. [email protected] the 1.4 was used for a year, the 1600+ a few mos. and the 2000+ not even a month. I refurbish systems of relatives leaving me with these things, none of my friends want em' so I pass them on to the public.

SWEET! I would REALLY like 1 of them. I have 1 of every CPU from the 286 through the PIII except the 386 (was looking for an 8088, but gave up!). How much you asking for the 386?

Logik, Which flavor of the 2.0GHz do you have? *is it green or brown* I have a friend that may be interested in it if it's a 2.0 XP Thoroughbred core (green). Let me know!

Oh man I just threw out a whole bunch of computers, I would have sent you the CPU for nothing. What's the point of having this old stuff anyways? Are you hoping that one day it'll be a collectors item?
:p

I can't find a 386 tech...btw, do you have any of the non intel chips, like a amd k5, k6, k6-2, k6-III, cyrix mII, IDT Winchip, cyrix 387 co-processor,cyrix 487 co-processor...any non x86 archetectures like a PPC, Sparc, ect.?? also, how about the not as common intel chips like t Pentium Pro? BTW, the 8080, 8086 and 8088 are not really chips but whole mainboards, and I just threw away a 4.75MHz 8088 :-(

Just some ideas of things to look for if you collect chips...also, how about the celery's, there was the celeron (slot) celeron a (slot) celeron 2 (socket) celeron 3 coppermine, 100fsb (socket), tulatian celeron 256 L2 cache and 100 fsb - not a bad chip at ALL btw... and now they have the celeron 4 (p4 based)...also there were slot PIII's, Slot PIII coppermines, socket coppermines and socket tulatian's all in the pIII..the tulatian was the best, 133 fsb and 512 L2 cache...it was outperforming the first p4's at the time, and only went up to 1.4...really popular miniXeon for servers...also look for ya a PII and PIII Xeon.

You can find most of this crap on ebay for little to nothing...

I have the Pentium Pro chip, but have completely forgotten the Cyrix brand (I can't imagine how many of those that I've thrown away!). I have atleast 1 of each of the slot processors (I think) except for the celeron's. I kept only the PII and Athlon ones.

I do have a K6, but no K5 or K6-2 etc. Oh well...

Why have them? I want to make a shadow box with them in there, along with 30 pin RAM, 72 pin, DIMM, and even a "stick" of 8 or 9 8kb (yes, kb) chips.

I even have an old EEPROM chip (the one with the window). I don't recall who made it though.

I ALSO have a 20 MB MFM HD made by Western Digital (I think), a 40 MB IDE HD by Western Digital, and a 40 MB Seagate (I think) laptop HD.

Just junk to most, but I think it's cool.

actually, tech, it doesn't always go by color... http://www.tomshardware.com/cpu/20020610/index.html shows a Thoroughbred core, and http://www.tomshardware.com/cpu/20020313/index.html shows the palomino core...note that both samples are brown, i've seen both brown and green thoroughbred AND palomino's building sometimes 3-4 AMD systems a day...it's pretty much the luck of the draw, same goes with the color of the CPU fan. Simply, the Thoroughbred should have the small capacitors or whatever they are on top, along with the black label that says AMD Athlon...

Oh...well, he was telling me on the phone that color mattered (perhaps to him?).
Also, Crazy, I just re-read my post...I wasn't trying to be a horses butt. Sorry if I came across that way.

well, if it matters to you tech, i like the brown ones better, if for no other reason than all of intels chips are green...lol

My XP 2100+ chip is green, w/ a green fan, and my Duron was brown w/ a black fan.(i think it was black, it broke, and i had a diff one)

the duron's are made out of ceramic and grey like the tbirds...the athlon xp's are green and brown and made out of the same stuff they make mobo's with...like the pIII

Crazy

I was so exited about it when I got it, i didnt even notice if it was ceramic, or made out of mobo stuff lol. Thats cool to know though.
