trying to join server

I have tried to join your server to play several times and get a message in console as follows:
Host_error: Illegal user message 231
and then it drops me from the server. Can you please tell me what i've done? I've never played on your server and I'm puzzled by this message.

I get this message every once and a while...generally i just type retry in console and it lets me right in. But if you've tryed several times, Im not sure what to tell you.
