Guys, I am trying to sell my desktop and build a new rig, and I am wondering how much my old rig is worth.

Specs are :

GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard
XFX HD-487A-ZWFC Radeon HD 4870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card
Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model BL2KIT12864AA804
CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model TWIN2X2048-6400C4
(yes, both types of ram, so 4GB of ram total)
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Conroe 2.4GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor BX80557E6600
Other parts as well, but those are the signifigant pieces I guess
DVD drive and burner, 300GB 7200 rpm hard drive, X-FI sound blaster card, Antec case, Power supply.

I was thinking around 400 or so would be a good price?

Why would you even sell it? A couple of hundred could keep you going strong for a year+

Go to Newegg and build that same pc then take 35-45% off of that.

Upgrade Proc and video if you want and keep going.

How far can I go up on a processor with a socket 775? I was thinking if I had to change the chip and mobo, just to go ahead and build a new rig. Plus I have a friend that wants to buy this one from me, and I'd like a quieter case with larger fans!

If you have someone wanting it, then go ahead and sell it.

Yea, its a friend, so I was just trying to give him an honest cost on it.

FYI the best processor available for the 775 is this one,
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115130

But for few bucks less, this one is almost identical, just as a slower clock speed

Either way, these processor are at the top of the pile for the last of the 775's made.

Well if that is the case. I usually go with 50% of new unless it was really not used. The problem is that I do not want anyone getting the idea that there is any implied value or warranty.
