Here's another tip that I've been using, it works everytime.
The dude's voice in this video is pretty annoying, but its a good tip. It doesn't work on the buildings that have the steel reinforced frame (the rusty orangish frames) but there aren't a whole lot of those. I jumped in an empty server on arica harbor to practice and found out exactly which corners to put c4 in to take buildings down. even 2 story ones. Its great:
