Today, Wally Pontiff,the star third baseman for the LSU Tigers, was found dead in his parent's Metairie home. The exact cause is yet to be determined, but all signs point to natural causes.
Wally was a returning senior and team captain for LSU who was selected by the Oakland Athletics in this year's draft. He was an outstanding player and leader on the team as well as a genuinely good person outside of the game. He will be tremendously missed by all baseball fans. He was 21 years old.
