LOL @ Corbin....XBox looks pretty sweet, my roommate is bringing it down to college. I heard Halo is a pretty sweet game, although I haven't tried it or any game for that matter. You guys have to try Super Smash Brothers for GameCube, that game Ownz!

XBOX has an ethernet card build in. BROADBAND OWNS JOO!!!

Also, XBOX has several good games right now boon. PoS2 has a ton more games right now cause it's older (and weaker) than XBOX. XBOX has been on the market for about 8 months now and has over 70 games out. By Xmas it will have almost 50 just for the online service and countless others for standard play. All online games support the XBOX communicator too.

So you have to buy an add-on for the PS2 and GC (and yes the PS2 will support broadband, it has been announced - trust me, don't argue, just accept it as fact since it is painfully obvious that many of us are simply more knowledgeable about the console war than you are).

You forgot to mention that you have to pay $50 to activate your XBox online service (this is on top of whatever you pay your current broadband provider). So there is an additional "up-front" cost for the XBox too. After the first year, there will be a monthly fee (again, on top of whatever you pay your broadband provider).

Okay, so XBox released 70 games in 8 months (again, only one of which was worth a darn). The XBox live service (that's the name of the service in case you were wondering) is supposed to launch sometime this fall. So you're telling me that MS is going to release 50 online titles in the last three months of the year??? Do you just believe every rumor and piece of mis-information that you hear???

Geez...XBox fanboys. I bet if Microsoft were to release a game called "Hype" it would sell a million copies....

As fas as technology... I think it's more the games that rule. Remember when the early computers came out? Oh!!!! Look at all this technology. What do we do with it? let's write basic programs. If you want proof, go play Eternal Darkness on the gamecube for a little while. that has got to be the most original game in a long tim. not to mention it just plain r0x0r's your b0x0rs.

the more power a system has doesnt make it the king of the hill.
multiple factors decide that...

1: Developers. Certain Developers develop certain games for certain systems. If a certain system has a pretty big following by many developers, then its certain that that system will be top dawg. But that doesnt necessarily mean that it would, y'see. Sony and Squaresoft, a good combination. Sony made the hardware that Squaresoft seemingly feels comfortable with, so they chose to stick with it. If a certain system can grab ahold of a dev. that they know can make good games, then its a given that they could make the grade.
2: The Games. Yes it could be true that the more games, the better, but the quality of the games must be taken into consideration. Lets say that Nintendo put out 50 poor quality titles, and Sony puts out 4 top quality titles. Which system would you be compelled to lean towards?
3: Technology. Ok, so the graphics power behind a system has a good bit to do with its overall goodness, but take a look at the Dreamcast. it had awesome graphics. granted that it doesnt really hold up with the power of the Xbox, most of its games looked awesome and sometimes played even better. The reason it didnt make it was yes, The Ps2. Once the ps2 hit, the dreamcast met its end. The gamecube has really good graphics, and Nintendos choice to use small CDs was a good idea. Many devs. have yet to tap into these systems capabilities as of yet.
4: Consumers. Simply Put, like what you like. If you lean towards a certain system, thats your choice. There are many people who think going the way of owning all of the systems is the way to go. thats actually a good idea.

This $50 activation you mentioned comes with a few things....that would a game, 1 yr membership and the communicator. That comes from Aug XBOX magazine by the way. The will be Re-volt according to the mag. It's all a matter of taste.
