For those who just can't go long without a little indoctrination, the new version of America's Army is available on Steam. I played the original and thought it was pretty good for a while. Since I need a break from L4D and BF1943 is not yet out, I'm going to give it a try.

i've been meaning to ask you. have you read anything on ARMA2 ? Its supposed to be ultra realistic, huge amount of possible players etc.

Tried to download it last night, but Steam was too busy. I'll try again tonight. ARMA 2 is suppose to be released on the 26th. The trailers look very BF2-ish. I think I'm more pumped about it than AA3. Of course anything is better that the stuff out now. Burp... I think I have some indigestion from L4D.

For those looking to try out AA3, things are pretty screwed up with it at the moment. Of course I know that's a big surprise coming from the government and all (just wait until they are in charge of health care... sorry for the off topic remark). At any rate, it takes a while to get it pre-loaded from Steam and then it takes a while to actually unlock it. You also will have problems logging in and getting credit for your training. I have yet to get credit for my initial training. I'm sure it will be awesome in a month or 2, but we'll see what else it out by that time.

ARMA 2 is out next week. Red Faction: Guerrilla will be out in a couple months. BF 1943 will be out next month. Any other FPSs coming out this summer? BF3 is a 2010 title. COD Modern Warfare 2 and BF Bad Company 2 are both end of the year releases.

Just a little heads up to those planning to give it a try.... have some patience.

As a side note, I think it would be great to find a game we can all get into again (at least those still gaming). It was awesome when we could jump into a server and just dominate. Ahhh.. the glory days. It would be cool.

I agree, i miss the good ole days of dominating on bf2. The teamwork was great. I want to see how Bad Company 2 is, I'm most looking forward to BF3. 1943 may be a good one to tide us over till the big dogs hit, being it'll be cheap, quick and easy to get into and goof around.
i want to see what the reviews look like for ARMA2, and if a good playerbase grows

Agreed... I'm around :)

L4D has been a lot of fun, it just blows that you cant have more than 4 of us at a time on a server. What would have been cool, would have been a larger format with enough zombies, and so forth to handle about twice the players... make it a (REAL) team effort.

Onji, did you try out the demo of ARMA 2 yet? I downloaded it and ran it, but the mouse lag issues made it unplayable. I'm sort of unconvinced by it. What about you?

Did anyone else try either of these games/demos? I tried them both and was left unimpressed. After several years, BF2 still holds the crown. Come on Dice... bring on some BF3 lovin'.
