Ok guys, I have tried it out, and you (CAN) see the difference, If you read the read me file with the program, and follow the directions, you can actually turn the application on and off while in game... Thus, switching you from for example 1680 x 1050, to what ever your settings were in your BF2 video options... You will be surprised at the difference it makes in what you can see v/s what you cannot. :)

Just unzip, run the fix file, "Note" to use the application you have to start it up along side BF2, this is the only way it will modify your resolution.

So are you opening winzip along with BF2 every time?

I tried it out.

When I ran it though it changed my screen rez in game lower than what it was without the Widescreen Fix. I've already got my shortcut modified with the screen settings, so when I ran the app with BF2 it set it to the Video settings I had in BF2 config (vs. the higher settings that I have in my shortcut).

It is interesting if you want to physically see the difference between the shortcut settings and the BF2 listed settings; but I didn't see any improvement in view width.

So if you put the following in your shortcut, you'll get the same results without having to run the extra app:

+fullscreen 1 +szx 1920 +szy 1200

Oh, damn. I was waiting for the opportunity to do this, but didn't know that it would present itself so soon:

OK Smarts Arse's :stick .... My point being, when I made my changes in the BF2 shortcut to 1680 x 1050 before...

and yes I was aware you could make the changes in the BF2 shortcut..

I could not tell if it really made a diffrence, for all i knew, it wasen't doing anything.. but with this app's Exe, you can toggle your native res, with the one EA is forcing you to use.
