Waht is the best bang for your buck with a vid card for W.o.W.? The comp has a PCI-e slot and is currently running a 7300LE 512mb.

Thanks in advance.

Whats your price range, that will determine a lot, also are you dealing with a PCI-e x16 slot... if im not mistaken there were some cheap motherboards that came out when PCI-e was just hitting the market that were still only x8 slots.... Other words what kind of mother board do you have?

I don't think there is a better bang for the buck than the 8800 GT, nuf said IMHO

Here ya go http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130319

For value, and performance, at least from what I understand about WOW... being that its an older game with less intensive graphics than the newer games out.. this card should work great, and its not to expensive... there are a few others makes in this category worth looking at.... it just depends on what his preference is on Make.. Me personally I just purchased the EVGA 8800 GTS 64omb card, and Im very happy with it.

I say used a Diamon VLB card...it's bad to the bone. Or was 12 years ago anyway

yeah rollout is right on, if price is a concern, then the 8800GT 512MB should run everything, can get them anywhere from $260-$320 depending on brand and how OC they make it... In Feb the new 9000 series is supposed to be out, already have pics and some specs on the 9800GX2 I think it was, which is 2 cards in one for like $450.

WOW is an "older" game but to run an MMORPG full bore, especiallly on a 24" monitor at it's native resolution, you need some power.
