Got a co worker who has uninstalled ME and installed XP. Didn't quite do it right and every time the computer boots up it asks for him to select Windows default (The copy of ME that he removed) or the New XP. Xp works fine but if he tries to boot up in ME becuase its gone it crashes and reboots. How does he eliminate the dual boot up problem. Is that in the BIOS?

To elaborate a little more

Control Panel
System
Advanced
Startup and Recovery Settings
Edit the Startup Options file manually
Remove the line refering to Windows ME
Save the file

This is advanced configuration options so be very careful. Do not edit this file manually unless you have to as if done incorrectly, it could cause your system to not start up.

By the way, he didn't format and install XP properly if he is having to edit this file.

Yeah...I should have elaborated a bit more...considering the source of the question. ;-)
