cd key for XP

I got a computer I'm working on, virus infested and in desperate need of formating. I know the version of xp pro it has is legit, but i don't have the cd or the key. I thought there was a way to get the key of regedit, but i'm not sure where to look. Anyone know?

And on a side note, this thing has the most single annoying computer problem i've ever seen. The damn cd tray ejects and retracts itself whenever it wants. Sometimes i think its like a DJ scratching a record orsomething, its wierd....

As for the other virus/spyware stuff. Get norton on there or some other antivirus, then update its definitions. Also get adaware on there, and update that. REBOOT the pc into safe mode, then run full scans from both programs.

Well the computer didn't have anything important on it, so my plans are to format it and start fresh on it. I plan on finding all the drivers and such before i do it, so i can make it go smooth as possible.
