That was probably the best 2nd half of football I've seen LSU play in the past 3 years. My only complaint was that the 2 field goals should have been TD's instead.

2nd half:
ND had the ball for barely 8 minutes
total of 52 yards
6 poss. - 4 punts, 1 INT, and the last poss. was end of the game and they just let the clock run out
the only 1st down they had in the 2nd half was due to a LSU penalty.

LSU
had the ball almost 22 minutes
total of 304 yards
6 poss. - 2 field goals, 2 TD's, 1 punt, and 1 INT.

If it wasn't for the horrible officiating, the game would have been even more lopsided. I know officials screw up once in a while, but damn, when you get to the top level of Div 1-A and you screw up several major game changing calls.... you need to be fired and forced to publicly apologize to both colleges.

Vincent played better than he has all year too. surprised they didn't let him carry it more at the end to break 100.

gotta love the QB stats comparison. isn't Quinn supposed to be the player of the year and 1st draft pick? LMAO

Brady Quinn
C/ATT YDS AVG TD INT
15/35 148 4.2 2 2

JaMarcus Russell
C/ATT YDS AVG TD INT
21/34 332 9.8 3 1

Quinn had sh!t game, but he is good.

Look at Leinart vs. Young. Leinart is still going to be better in the NFL then Young. He has composure in the pocket, exudes confidence, and most of the time you can put money on him. Quinn is similar. He just can't do it all the time. LSU had a better team hands down, and they came to play tonight. The better team won, but they were picked to win also.

A LITTLE SUGAR BOWL HISTORY.......

Tulane Stadium housed the game from 1935 through 1974; it has been played in the Louisiana Superdome since. Tulane Stadium (demolished in 1981) was also often referred to as "The Sugar Bowl". The Sugar Bowl's corporate title sponsor was USF&G Financial Services from 1987 to 1995 and Nokia cellular telephones of Finland from 1995 to the present. ABC Sports has televised the game since 1969.

Prior to the BCS, the game was traditionally host to the Southeastern Conference champion. In years it does not host the BCS title game and the SEC champion is not involved in the title game, the Sugar Bowl has the option to select that team.

LSU has been in the Sugar Bowl 12 times and has a record of 6-6. Wyoming made it to the Sugar Bowl a couple of times....lol. Guess who beat them.

Brady Quinn is going to make a lot of money and can't do the job of a QB every one they played that was ranked won . What is all the hype about him and LSU gets the shaft what up with that.

Congrats to you LSU fans! Dominating performance.... and to think I missed an evening of BF2 to watch the over-hyped Notre Dame womens field hockey team play football against the class of the SEC. Die Florida...

Russell doesn't have the brain, but damn he's got a strong arse arm. How many quarterbacks do you see flip the ball like that down the field for 40 to 50 yards. I love how they review plays, and then make the WRONG decision, like the pick they took away from xenon. It was clear the ball stayed on his forearm when he rolled over. Another pick followed that one so i guess justice was served.

yeah, the only reason I wanted him to have the INT is ND was 1st and 10. but if they gave it to him, we would have been on the 1yrd line. Justice was served so many times in that game. next play we got an INT anyway and the ball was around the 50. later they called passinterferance on LSU when it was clearly offensive pass interferance - next play we got another INT. Looks like God was there, he was just on the LSU sideline!

I would say JaMarcus made himself a pile of cash last night, likely now a first rounder and maybe a top ten if he declares and comes out. Whether or not he's Vince Young (I'm not sold on Vince just yet, but getting closer) or a Ryan Leaf only time will tell. I've been listening to ESPN radio, and they are saying he's lazy and hard to work with. With the tools that guys has, man he could be really, really good. Whats the story with this guy?

JaMarcus Russel says, "Can you throw a ball 40 yards.... while sitting down?"
The dood has a supernatural arm no doubt.

It doesn't really matter what his brain is like or if he makes good choices, he's going to be picked either way based on his arm. Whether he pans out or not we'll see. He's not supposed to be all that smart but because of his arm he gets away with some throws he probly shouldn't make.
