how to make a system restore?

i have no clue how to do it ,all i know is that i have the sytem restore on .
i must have deleted some programms that i actually need so i guess i have no other choice .

I don't think it will restore deleted programs.
You need to create a restore point.
Start - Programs - Accesories - System Tools - System Restore
