DVD Burner

I'm looking to buy a dvd burner and was wondering if it really makes any difference what kind. There's so many manufacturers I have no clue. Should I get something cheap or brandname? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have probs with plextor. Just make sure you buy a dual layer drive.

I had 2 plextors SCSI and they were always reliable until I "kneed" the tray :(
