What nvidia drivers are you using?

well there u go,just watch your core temperature.i got mine at :
engine clock 418 mhz
core clock 710 mhz
put texture quality to low,iu can't tell the difference except for spays
change to direct x 8.1.asl ill op for the command
use some of those.
These are a few Cvars and values you can set by using your console to improve your games performance.
Some, like the ones which remove rain and fog, can also improve your visibility level making it just that little but easier to make out a distant CT hiding on aztec :)

cl_phys_props_enable 0 -- removes a few props like cans on the ground.

cl_ragdoll_physics_enable 0 -- turns off the ragdoll effect so bodies disappear

fog_enable 0 -- This removes fog

fog_enable_water_fog 0 -- This removes water fog

mat_mipmaptextures 0 -- The texture quality will lower the further away you are which improves fps

mp_decals 300 -- Decals are the bullet holes, burnt patches on ground from nades etc.
This changes the amount kept in memory. The lower the amount the more fps.

r_decal_cullsize 1 -- Changes texture quality

r_decals 0 -- Removes decals.

r_lod -1 -- Lowers texture quality for higher fps

r_rainradius 0 -- distance at which you will see rain. 0 means you wont see it.

r_rainsimulate 0 -- Removes rain

r_rainsplashpercentage 0 -- Removes rain splash effects

r_rootlod # -- Changes detail level. Can be set from 1 - 7. 1 = min, 7 = max

Personally I like having the rain effects going in aztec but if someone else is playing without fog, they may be able to see you while you cant see them. Hopefully this will help give you a bit of an edge in your games.

good luck ,u should get up to like 90 maybe 100 fps

Are you playing Source or 1.6?
At work I have a 440MX ona P4 2.0 and I get a constant 100 fps.

what settings are you running" I have that card and an AMD xp2400 (2gig)....I don't think I get anywhere near 100 fps (in source that is)....around 40-50 i think..

Well I don't have source, but that sounds about right for this card.
You need a "super machine" to get 100 FPS for source :P.

Two computers with just about the same exact hardware in them except for the vid cards. My 5700 agp gets between 40 to 60. Ski's 5700 pci get a flat 100 with spikes to 180. We both have the same motherboard, hard drive, ram, processor. I have a 500 watt powersupply. Ski has a 425 watt.

Both running the same Nvidia drivers? Look at his configs and ingame settings. Any differences?

no no , everything is the same except for the vid cards. One is a agp and the other is a pci card.
The only questions I lie on are:
Where were you last night?
Do you know her?
You been drinking?
Is that my lighter?
How did the wreck happen?
Did you get the message I left you?
How do you keep getting the runs and can't come to work?

If you ask me anything else besides one of those, I'm usually honest .... lol
