Last night I bought another 512Mb of Corsair ECC DDR 400 ram. I added it to my computer which already has a 512Mb Corsair ECC DDR 400 stick in it, as I wanted a smooth gig of ram. Thr problem is that these ram modules won't work together. I mean if I place either of the two in DIMM 1 they work fine. COmputer boots up and runs very well but if I install the two together the computer won't finish booting up. I checked the Giga-byte web page and this is all I could find (see attached pic). I'm running a giga-byte K8NS-Pro Mobo with an AMD Athlon 64 3000+ cpu and a FX5900XT vid card and a maxtor 40 gig HD. Has anyone got any ides. Seems to me like I have a mobo problem maybe.

You can't combine an ECC module with a non-ECC module

He said that both of them was ECC if that is the case then that's not the issue, I would check that though to make sure Andy.

They are the exact same module and they are both ECC

The ram is Registered ECC ram (buffered). The chart you listed is for Unbuffered ram

Registered ECC ram is mostly for processors that call specifically for it like the AMD Opteron processors. I'm not sure how will they will work in combination on that mobo and you should probably email giga-byte for more info.
