would you use win2k server as an os? i just went through some software of my dads and i found it. thought id give it try. is it decent for gaming or should i switch to xp?

i would go to xp...win2k aint bad, but you would rather have xp

I would not recommend a server OS for a gaming system. While they may run games well, they are truly not designed for such.

Agreed. Server OS = No fun gaming. Just ask MadMax!

hmm... i was playin cs:s and i was choppin really badly, so i installed the 4th service pack for win2k server and it runs smooth @ 1280x1024. i am impressed with this 5900 xt. so far so good....i think i will install xp though

you CAN get a server os set up as a workstation, but it takes a lot of work, and a lot of changing settings. I've run both 2k server and 2k3 server on my desktop at various times - usually i'd load them because they were the only cd's handy at the time, but you'll be better off and happier w/ xp pro or 2k pro rather than server oses.
