Currently building a system, tried to power up, but it only blinks for a second.
Here's what I have.

Asus p5gdc-v deluxe
P4 550 3.4 ghz lga775
1 gig crucial 553 mhz ddr2
A-Top X Blade case w/450 PSU

I had to get a 20 to 24 pin PSU connector. I'm thinking that this PSU may not be good enuf to power this system.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I took everything apart and put it back together and it powered up fine.
I think maybe the heatsink wasn't seated correctly.
Are Prescott 3.4 suppose to run so hot, i checked the CPU and MB in the BIOS, it said that the CPU was at 68C and the MB was at 40C

What graphics card do you have in there? Unless it's a top of the line card, your PSU is rated to handle it. Only problems is that it's a no-name brand, and I'm not sure how good it is. If you can still return your PSU, trade it in for this: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=17-103-924&depa=0
It's one of the best PSU's on the market right now

The PSU came with the case, it's a 450W J&C :P.
I have a Leadtek 6600 GT

You could have had one of the risers holding the motherboard up undernearth it in the wrong spot. That would cause it to short out the motherboard and not boot.

thanx, i had fixed the prob when i took everything apart and reassembled it. I think possibly the heatsink/fan was not seated correctly.
