It's not that bad, man. I mean, for your first site, I've seen worse! Watch your colors, though. Blue red and black don't really mix that well. Well, Blue and black anyway. Another thing to remember is KISS (keep it simple, stupid). A website that is hard to navigate through is a site that peopel won't go to.

It's not bad but like Tech said watch the color scheme you use that can kill a site. Also of you want orginality then try and stay away from the built in site creators, however if you don't know html very well or how to use the different web builders like Dreamweaver or Front Page then go with what you can man. The important thing is just don't give up and ask questions.

Now if I may address someone.

I have seen you post serveral different replies in these forums and all though they are not mine, and I don't have any ability to regulate them. I would like to say to npor dude, listen let me give you a kindly word of advise that my momma gave me a long time ago.

By your own admision you can't do web site's, yet you tear down this guy's attempt to learn how. To me that shows that your a very small person inside, he is trying to better himself by learning something he doesn't know, where as you sit on the bench and tell him what he's doing sucks. Be gladd I don't have controll of these forums or their server cause at this point I do belive a beating would be in order.

Now Merc's I hope I have not stepped over the line here, but the last few day's I have seen negitive post after negitive post from this guy and kinda just got fed up with it. Sorry if I over stepped.

Dutchman, gj! I would help but I don't know diddily about computers let alone making a website. I could make come up with a picture drawn from paint and post it on a site without any links or further sources of info. :) Keep messing around with it, I'm sure you'll figure it out or someone will read this thread and toss in some words of wisdom.

That's actually pretty good for your first try. I tried to make a website a few years ago and it ummm..... well it was lacking in a few areas.
Take Tech's advise, and you'll have a pretty decent site.

don't mind npor, he's just insecure and feels that if he tears down others he will look better in others eyes and therefore he'll feel better than himself. He just doesn't know any better and hasn't learned that lesson in life for himself yet.

I'm not a site builder but I do have an eye for design.

1: Center up the "Welcome to..." and change the font on it...size it up too. That's what you want people to cue in on.

2: Background color. Might want to match it up to the grey from that obnoxious banner ad. If you HAVE to have that ad, I would suggest moving it further down the page or subduing it with the background color change.

3: Background picture or some clipart in the header will also pull attention to it. Gotta break the stare created by the animated banner ad. If you can get Paint Shop Pro 7 or higher, use the Animation Shop to make a small .gif. Something simple like your clan logo fading in and out or bullet holes popping up in the header area. I made my avatar with that prog and it's very simple to use once get the basics. Remember to keep it a SMALL file though. .gifs tend to slow things down. If youre REALLY ambitious, get Flash and learn that. You can make anis all day long and they won't lag ya much at all.

4: Color template. If your going to use multiple colors on the site. try to use 2 MAYBE 3 colors and for diffrent appearances use diffrent shades of that primary color. As I type this I'm looking at 4 diffrent shades of blue on our site. The red/blue/black is a lil hard on the eyes.

5: Bump the ENTIRE site's font size to 10. 12 or 14 would be better.

heheh....good first try. As for the banner ad, you might not be able to if its built into the software. Change the background color to match the banner. 8megs?? How friggin big is that pic??? Open it in animation shop then save it as a .gif but in a REALLY low color setting. You'll have to play with it till you can find a nice middle ground for file size and appearance.
